CLEAN SERIES Protein Powder[Review}

Before I get into the review of this protein powder I want you all to understand how much I truly love my GNC chocolate egg protein powder.

I have repurchased it 8 times and rarely allow myself to venture away from it. I love everything about my beloved egg protein powder BUT when the lovely people from Twin Labs reached out to me and asked if I was interested in trying the chocolate whey protein from their new CLEAN SERIES, I couldn't resist.

Another thing I should mention: I do not like whey protein powder.
I have tried a few different brands/flavors and have never been a fan so I was a little weary when it came to making my shake.

The stats and ingredients on this particular powder are great

Again I have to compare it to the egg protein I have been drinking for over a year.
CLEAN SERIES: 110 calories-23g Protein- Gluten Free-Clean Ingredients
EGG PROTEIN: 120 calories-21g Protein-Not Gluten free-No clean ingredients

So far so good

But then I took the plastic off of the top and this happened:
HUGE fail in my opinion.
Thankfully I snapped my photos before opening.

The protein powder smells like a mix of chocolate and coconut, which to me is a win, but if you're not a coconut fan [like Eddie] you wouldn't like this.

I made my usual dinner shake
Protein powder
Unsweetened almond milk
Frozen berries [this shake was just strawberries]

The Verdict:
-Not sweet

I would give this protein a 7.5 out of 10
I'm not sure I would purchase this on my own but I liked it and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a clean/gluten free protein powder.

Thank you Twin Labs for sending this for review!

My Furry Shadow

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!

This morning I had a little furry shadow with me everywhere I went

I just love that face!

Shortly after taking this photo I hit the gym for my usual Wednesday morning routine, Kickboxing and weights.

I'd say things went well!

I took a rest day yesterday and tackled some projects at home, most importantly my DVD collection which has been causing me anxiety the past few weeks.

I'm not sure why having all 200+ dvds in a box was bothering me as much as is was but having this finally organized [in ABC order] from Movies to TV shows to fitness dvds I am at peace.

Is anyone else OCD about things like this? I can't be the only one.

One last thing::: SO HAPPY about DOMA being found Unconstitutional ... WAY TO GO AMERICA.

Happy Hours & Beach Bums

Weekend recaps make me both happy and sad.
Happy because I love documenting how my time was spent with family and friends.
Sad because it's over.

Friday Night

A bunch of friends and family got together for Happy Hour at my favorite restaurant, Barrique, which was also where we had my Bridal Shower

My drink of choice: Absolut citron with seltzer and Dasani drops in Pineapple Coconut.

The only thing that was going to get me through my 2 hour workout was Pink Lemonade G-Fuel
I LOVE this stuff!
It gives you tons of energy with no jitters or crash. It's 100% all natural

It really fuels my workouts!

After the gym I helped out at my parents garage sale, I made $25 which was pretty sweet so I took some of the money and went to a new store that opened down the block called FIVE BELOW.
I scored two new gym shirts for $10!

Just had to cut the sleeves and collar off of them to make them into muscle tanks.

The rest of the night was spent enjoying a couple of strawberry wheat beers [a new favorite] on the porch with Eddie and the fam.

I was up early and in the gym for my usual arms, abs and kickboxing routine

Note to self, although my new shirt is awesome, it is not made for kickboxing./jumping around. Regardless I got in a great workout before spending my day on the beach!

Also: This post is making me look like I drank a lot this weekend, but I didn't.
3 cocktails Friday, 2 beers on Saturday and Sunday... More then usual but not a crazy amount in my opinion.

After the beach Eddie and I did a few home updates

I also put up some curtains my aunt gave me on Saturday but the pictures don't do them justice so I'll save it for another post ;)

Then we went over to my parents house for a BBQ and to finish our wedding invitations... I can't believe they're going out this week.

I made this delicious toasted coconut watermelon salad for dessert
The recipe is in the July/August issue of Food Network magazine which I just picked up Friday night and let me tell you... it has SO many amazing recipes, do yourself a favor and pick one up for yourself... you will not be disappointed.

And that is my weekend in a not so short recap!

How was your weekend?

Mexican Inspired Salad

What do you do when you're short on time in the morning and didn't have a chance to food shop over the weekend?

Make a delicious salad of course!

In the bowl:
-3/4 cup of black beans & corn [rinsed, then mixed together in a bag for quick meals]
-Head of romaine lettuce, chopped to perfection
-1/2 of an avocado, because they're amazing
-Shredded cheddar, because it's also amazing
-Onion crunch, for added flavor and crunchiness
-Roasted garlic salsa, to make your breath smell good...and to serve as dressing

Seriously this salad was THE BOMB.COM
It was enormous and I inhaled every last bit...I want MORE MORE MORE

I dare you to recreate it and tell me you aren't in love.

Everyday I'm Guzzlin'

Hey Friends!

Hope your day is treating you well, whenever and wherever you are reading this. I am trying to get back into the swing of blogging 4-5x a week in addition to daily vlogs.

That little guy in the picture above is my BFF Jug. He hangs out with me everyday and the more time I spend with him the less time I spend being sore.

I aim for a gallon of water a day, but lets be honest, it is not a very achievable goal on a regular basis. I'd say I hit my H20 goal 3 or 4 days out of the week. I also spend a lot of time dehydrating my body between my coffee consumption and sweating during my workouts. The benefits of drinking water are endless, and for me it helps keep my skin clear-body full- and muscles happy... so why not?

Another BFF of mine?
This guy:

Unfortunately I may need to stop hanging out with him because I finished this entire can in just 2 days.

Oh, I worked out last night
I know..SHOCKER.

I've noticed my burns aren't as high as they used to be, but I am working just as hard--if not harder. The only thing I can think of is I am in better shape then I was? Who knows.

Andddd last but not least Delta Labs is having two awesome specials that I wanted to tell you about!

I take the green tea, acai AND hair skin nails.. love them all.

Here is yesterdays vlog where I discuss my Candy Crush addiction. Please tell me I am not the only one.

See ya tomorrow!

Weekend Sweat and Eats!

I was up bright and early ready to tackle my 2 hour workout Saturday morning

However I got a little lazy 20 minutes into the second class and ended up bailing. I am still adjusting to our new home/schedule soooo I'll blame that ;)

The rest of the day was spent running errands with Becky for our places, we even stopped at my favorite oil/vinegar shop and I came home with these bad boys

If you live on Long Island [ I don't know if they have these anywhere else?] I highly recommend checking out The Crushed Olive. You can sample EVERYTHING!!
We went hungry which was not a good idea for our wallets, but great for our bellies!

Saturday night was spent on the couch with Eddie watching tv and eating sweet potato nachos thanks to this awesome recipe from Peas and Crayons.

I kept my toppings simple just cheese, black beans and roasted garlic salsa.
You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be making this again.

Attacked my workout first thing in the morning and it was AWESOME.
Kickboxing is always a little difficult but yesterday she really kicked our butts. Lets just say I wasn't too upset when class was over.

After KB Beck and I walked over to the Farmer's Market and picked up a bunch of goodies including Chia pudding!

The company is run by two best friends living on LI. They offer 4 flavors: original-vanilla-green tea- banana. Every single one of them tasted AMAZING. 100% raw, natural ingredients AND if you bring your jar back to them you receive money off of your next purchase!

Each jar is one serving and as you can probably tell from the picture above, one serving is HUGE. I will do a full review on this later in the week if you're interested!

After the FM it was BEACH TIME!!! First day of the season!

Last night Eddie and I made his and hers paninis for dinner.

Grilled eggplant, mozzarella, tomato, basil and Tuscan herb oil [from the Crushed Olive] on fresh ciabatta bread from the FM of course.

His: No picture but it was RIDICULOUS. Smoked Turkey and Smoked Gouda with a homemade smoky chipotle mayo.

On the side I had some kale chips

Perfect ending to a great weekend!

Also here is the vlog from Friday & Saturday/Apartment tour!
