Mile A Day Challenge-W.I.O.W!

HAPPY WORK IT OUT WEDNESDAY!

My 5k has changed me. It has made me re-think my workouts and my routine, it has made me want to push myself even further.

On Sunday I ran 3.2 miles
On Tuesday morning I walked 1.32, on the treadmill on an incline before my sculpt class

While reading  http://sweat-sparkles.tumblr.com/ yesterday afternoon and saw this picture:

Then I thought to myself... why couldn't I add a #mileaday to my workouts?

Here's the plan:
Add 1 mile a day to your workout.
For example before your fitness class-run,walk,skip,lunge,bike 1 mile.
I don't care how you do it, just do it!

I AM ONLY ASKING FOR A MILE!
It will take no more than 15-20 minutes out of your day!

Rest Day?
Walk a mile.

Don't want to do an entire mile at one time?
NO PROBLEM!
Break it up into 1/4's or 1/2's
I don't care how you do it, JUST DO IT.

There is no time frame for this "challenge."
I plan on making it part of my daily life, and I will be holding myself accountable on twitter and facebook using #mileaday.

Have a pet?
Get them involved! They would love a mile walk everyday!

Will you be part of the #mileaday movement?

  1. of course! I have already been doing that, but it will make me more accountable:) If i don't make it to the gym or don't have time I do either an ab workout/ or arm circuit with my weights at home or walk with Mia (my lovely dog) outside. It seriously goes so quick! (especially when you live in Florida and the weather is always beautiful!!!!!- not trying to get anyone jealous or anything:))

Oh an before I could actually read what the picture said, I thought it said "A mile a day, keeps the "pouch" away"... and I liked that way more:)

    Love you Just Keep Sweating.com!

  2. LOVE this... I can't run too much right now since I'm injured, but walking or elliptical is a definite! I was planning on 6 miles on the elliptical tonight, but now it will be 7 :). My legs already say THANK YOU, Just Keep Sweating!

    1. That's amazing, you do what you can do when you do it! Break it into 1/4's or 1/2's throughout the day if you want too! Spread the word I'd love to get as many people as possible involved!

  5. A mile a day? hmmm, but I would be so tempted to just keep going. :) Sounds like a great challenge. And you even get a sparkly on your belly button like the photo! Woo Hoo!
