Taking the Cheribundi Challenge

Last Monday I had mentioned I was starting a 7 day challenge with Cheribundi.
For those of you who may not know what Cheribundi is, it's a company that makes a variety of cherry juices. They have everything from REBUILD which contains protein for that post workout muscle recovery to RELAX that has L-Theanine which aids in relaxing your brain after a long day at work, which lets face it, is always helpful.

I have to admit, before taking on this challenge I had little knowledge of the benefits cherries/cherry juice could have if taken regularly. Here are few things I learned that may be news to you as well, if you are not a regular cherry juice drinker:

- Tart cherries contain phytonutrients and anthocyanins (SCIENCE!) which makes them a natural way to manage pain/common ailments such as gout and arthritis.
-Cherries are a natural source of melatonin. Therefore drinking cherry juice has been shown to encourage melatonin production naturally, resulting in deeper and longer nights sleep.
-Tart cherries are full of antioxidants that have been proven to increase the speed of recovery by reducing pain and muscle soreness.

As someone who suffers from Osteoarthritis in both of my knees this was a real eye opener, if I could avoid pain during/after my workouts by drinking a Cheribundi every day that would save me a lot of money in ice and Advil!

Although I haven't felt the effects of cherry juice helping in my arthritis pain, I know it will take me longer then a week to feel relief. I definitely can tell a difference in my muscle soreness and recovery time. There was not a single day last week I felt fatigued from sore, achy muscles.

I am also someone that struggles with getting a full nights sleep, and I must say that during this week that I was drinking 2 Cheribundi's daily I felt more rested.

After taking this challenge and learning all of the benefits cherry juice has to offer I plan on keeping it as part of my daily routine. I am hoping after a few weeks I will see the benefits more so on the pain management side then the improved sleep. I'll definitely keep you guys "in the know" on how it's going and if I feel more of a difference as time goes by.

Do you drink cherry juice?
