Knocked Down Yet Again

I haven't worked a full week yet this year.
Between Holidays, Norovirus, and snow I feel like I just can't catch a break.
This week was going to be the first full week of work since 2013, or so I thought.

Tuesday night I hit the gym and felt good for the most part. I found myself out of breath a lot quicker then usual and coughing a bit, but nothing that made me think I was going to get sick.

Wednesday morning I woke up with the worst  cough and burning in my chest I have ever felt along with aches and chills.

 I went to the Dr later that morning and found out I had the flu + bronchitis, a double whammy that literally came out of nowhere and knocked me out!

 After two days in bed with homemade chicken soup courtesy of the hubs, 3 prescriptions, and countless online purchases I am back on my feet.

This morning I stopped into the local juice shop to give my body some much needed greens before work.

 I went with the "Cold Ease," and had them add 1/2 lemon and 1T of Phresh Greens.
This little juice cost me $8.75, ROBBERY!! This weekend I plan on loading up on lots of fresh veggies for juices next week and I am going to pick up some PHresh Greens so I can keep my immune system running high!

One thing I know for sure... I cannot wait to work out tomorrow morning after yet another 3 days out of the gym.
I just cannot win this winter, bring on spring!

Spring Body in Training

How many days left of winter?

Gees, I am so sick of this cold weather and the sight of snow is making me insane!

This past weekend I was in Maryland helping my sister shop for her wedding dress and noticed she had a scale in her bathroom [I don't own one as I don't really believe in living by the scale] so I hopped on and was shocked to find out I have lost 10 pounds this year.

I've made several subtle changes to my diet and fitness routine and it seems like it may actually be working.

I track ALL of my foods in my life planner as I have mentioned before as well as my workouts with calories burned. I have also changed up my routine a bit by introducing heavier weights and adding barre into my workouts. 
In addition to that I think that having weeks where I've worked out hard for 6 days followed by a week with 2-3 rest days and burning less has allowed my body not only to have proper rest and recovery time but to confuse my muscles which has aided in my weight loss.

None of this was premeditated or planned but I am happy that I have been enjoying myself and tracking my choices, whether fitness or eating related has worked in my favor!

Here are some eats from yesterday and this weekend:

 Skinnylicious Mexican Tortilla salad from Cheesecake Factory, we had to refuel for wedding dress shopping round two!

 Lunches for the week: Chicken salad made with avocado and celery on rice cakes.
 Dinners for the week: Loaded sweet potatoes, mexican style

 This morning I had a big bowl of Stonyfield Banilla [obsessed] yogurt with freshly sliced strawberries and a handful of Natures Path Dark Chocolate Macaroon granola.
It definitely started my day the right way :)

Last night I was back in the gym for the first time since Friday and it felt so good, I was genuinely excited to sweat, is that weird?

My Latest Love Affair

Lately I've been changing up my routine more then usual and a lot of that is thanks to my beloved little friend, my life planner from Erin Condren.

It took me almost 2 months to purchase the life planner simply because it is expensive [$50] and I have never been able to stick with using an agenda of any kind. However I spent many nights watching different YouTube videos of people unboxing their planners or doing reviews and finally at the end of November I bit the bullet and got one.

I've been using it every single day since it arrived the second week of December. I've purchased special pens for it [Infinity, they don't bleed through] and today I took it a step further by picking up stickers and washi tape.


The truth is, the more I write lists or plan, the better I feel. When I am organized, my anxiety is lower and my life is happier.

At the beginning of this year I started writing my daily workouts in the planner and the amount of calories I burned during that workout, which is tracked by my Polar FT4 heart rate monitor and then I added the totals for every day of that week to share my weekly burns.

This has turned into a big source of my motivation because I find myself craving to beat the previous weeks burn, but it also allows me to compare why my workouts weren't as good [eating/busy day/SNOW]  and I know how to improve going forward.

I also use my life planner to write all of my meals during the week, and I try to on the weekends but don't make myself crazy if I don't. Again so I am able to see what I am eating VS what I am burning or just to see how many poor decisions I can make in a day... which is a lot some days.

This planner comes with me everywhere I go, I keep my bills/spending in there, birthdays, work and personal events and everything else I have already mentioned. It has also turned into somewhat of a diary for me as of late, writing in special 'unplanned' things that has happened on a particular day so when I go back and read over my year I'll have that memory recorded.

I talk about my LP all of the time on my vlogs but since I haven't written much about it I wanted to give a mini review for those of you who may be on the fence about buying this product or something similar.

It really has helped me change the way I look and do a lot of things.
I am IN LOVE with my life planner and planning my life!
