 Eddie and I spent a lot of time preparing for our big move [which is THIS SUNDAY!] by packing/shopping/cleaning. We are so excited to move into the home that will be our first together as newlyweds!

SO.MANY.EXCITING.THINGS




Did I really take a week away from my blog?
So many things have happened since my last post that we have to play a little game of catch up.

Last we spoke it was right before my Bridal Shower. Well that has since come and gone and was a memory I will have forever. In addition to that we have also [finally] found our new home and we are moving in just under 2 weeks!


As you can tell life is a bit crazy, hectic, exciting at the moment which is why I took an unintentional week away from my beloved space here.


Oh, and I've been sick for the past week so throw that into the mix.


However, I may not have been here writing but I am daily vlogging on my YouTube channel AND I have my very own cooking show coming out!! We are filming the first 6 episodes this Wednesday and let me tell you we have some great recipes coming at ya.

And one final bit of news, I spent last Thursday at the Mercedes club in NYC with a bunch of other amazing health and fitness bloggers at Fitness Magazine's FitBlogNYC event. 
That deserves its own post, which will come later this week.

LOCK IT UP-Results





You guys my bridal shower is TOMORROW!! So  I wanted to share my OPERATION Lock It Up results with all of you today. 

I'll be daily vlogging all weekend but I doubt I'll have any time to sit in front of a laptop and actually blog about life this weekend.


Before we get into that, lets recap yesterdays workout.



Last night was Kickboxing, and it was toughhhhh. The room was packed and hot which I loathe when I am working out. Something about getting really, really hot while doing cardio just sends me into a mini panic attack.

Regardless I killed it and felt great afterwards.



This morning I took an updated side body shot.
The left is last Friday and the right is this morning


I can see some slimming down happened this week and that is really exciting!


Now lets look at a comparison from the beginning of OPERATION Lock It Up to now.

Left is from April 16 and the right is from Wednesday morning before kickboxing


I have to be completely honest with you guys.
I am shocked at the changes my body has made in just a little over 3 weeks.

I have lost 6 lbs and I am not sure how many inches because I suck and forgot to measure, as always.
But I can SEE the differences in the pictures and FEEL the differences in my workouts/body/clothes/energy.


CLEAN EATS & DIRTY WORKOUTS 
That is ALL you need to succeed.
And motivation-determination-focus
But those are easy ;)


The best part about my new eating plan I came up with?
I am ALWAYS stuffing my face!


This is a peek at today's meals:

Top left: Breakfast burrito: Ezekiel tortilla, 1 egg, 1/2 cup egg whites with one slice of cheese and ketchup
Bottom left: My avocado salad [which I eat EVERYDAY now] 1/2 avocado [HEALTHY FATS!!] mixed with cherry tomatoes and red onions topped with a little red wine vinaigrette 
Middle: GNC Chocolate egg protein powder aka the ONLY protein powder for me
Top right: Blueberry CHO with Maple almond butter mixed in
Bottom right: Fruit salad
Also not pictured was my fresh, homemade green juice I made this morning consisting of the same fresh fruit you see above, pHresh greens, water and ice.
And my gallon of water, which I aim to drink every single day.
Not only does it curb hunger it prevents muscles from being sore and the obvious prevention of dehydration.


Tonight we are having burgers for dinner, for me that means burger no bun + tons of veggie toppings.
Every other night I have shakes for dinner except weekends, you have to live your life people!

So there you have it, OPERATION Lock It Up was a MAJOR success!!

Things I Am Loving, Buying and Giving Away






I like to shop.
I mean, who doesn't?

In the past few months I've really reigned in my spending due to wedding costs/saving to move out, etc BUT I saw two things in the past 24 hours I just couldn't resist swiping for.


First Up: Nike polka dot sneakers.
 I mean who could resist these cuties!? 


Next Up: Nailpolish 


Simply for the name alone.
I am marrying a DJ/Producer, how could I NOT add this to my collection!?





Things I am Loving:

First Up: This breakfast combination


1/2 of an Ezekiel English muffin with some sort of protein [today was organic chicken breast] an over easy egg and cheese.
So simple, yet so delicious!

I first discovered this company at TJ Maxx a few months ago and picked up their Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Crunch. After falling in love with that product I went on their website to see what other products were available and bought their Coconut Almond Crunch, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Crunch and my absolute favorite, Dark Chocolate Apple Bits.


The company saw how in love with their products I was so they sent me their Sea Salt & Vinegar sprouted lentils to try, and again, I fell in love. I have yet to try something of theirs that I haven't liked! And the best part is... almost everything is Vegan AND Gluten free!

Memories Were Made





This weekend was the first of many weekends ahead that was jam packed from start to finish.


Friday Night

I had to meet up with my mom, aunt and Lauren at the venue for my Bridal Shower to wrap up some final details. I cannot believe it is THIS Saturday already! I am so so so excited to see my sister, family and friends from all over and celebrate my upcoming wedding with all of them.

When I arrived to Barrique it was happy hour, so naturally I took advantage of the $3 absolut citron drinks to celebrate the weekend!


I think I got a little too excited about the weekend/happy hour/life and ending up drinking a lot more than I had originally planned. I paid for that big time Saturday morning at the gym. 


Saturday

I worked out but I don't have any post workout proof pictures because like I mentioned above, I paid for Friday nights antics big time on Saturday.


I heard Old Navy was having a sale so I couldn't pass it up!


 I may be taking my colored skinny jeans obsession to a new level, thankfully only the cobalt blue pair came home with me. Oh, and the polka dot t-shirt as well.


Saturday afternoon we had my cousins [one of my bridesmaids] engagement party at her house, which was an absolute blast, despite the unseasonably cold weather.

HEY SPRING WEATHER, WHAT THE HECK IS TAKING YOU SO LONG!?

Plus any party with an ice luge and karaoke is a guaranteed good time



Sunday

Woke up, took arms & abs + kickboxing, again no PWO picture because I couldn't find my HRM strap [thankfully I found it this morning, it was tangled up with my TRX ] but it was a great class as always!


After the gym it was time to get ready for some Cinco De Mayo/ Bestie Birthday fun. I made sure to wear [almost] every mustache item I own + bring my mustache gear with me to the bar to properly celebrate.



After some cocktails/coronas we decided to break in Becky's new BBQ and for 3 non-grillers we did a fantastic job, if I do say so myself.

The boys even got to come hang out and play with Becky's boxer, Lecky... they lasted an hour before getting tired and cuddling up with momma.



It was quite the eventful weekend, lots of memories were made.


Oh!

There Will Always Be Hurdles...



Yesterday was a rollercoaster of suck and awesome.
I had a crappy day due to lots of things going on in life, all of which are unnecessary and unimportant.


Instead of letting it negatively affect me, I used it to FUEL me and FUEL my workouts.

 I kickboxed in the morning
Power X-ed in the evening.


Burned over 1,090 calories combined for my workouts and felt stronger then ever.

I may not feel like I am getting the results I want, as fast as I want but I AM getting stronger.

For example, in Power X last night we did two new moves: 1 where we had to jump over the ViPR when it was standing up.




For those of you who have never seen or used a ViPR, they're tall! So naturally I was nervous, but I said to myself, screw it... the worst thing that can happen is it will fall over or I'll fall on my face.

Neither of those things happened.
I successfully hopped over.

In life there are always going to be hurdles. It's up to YOU to decide if you're going to push yourself and hop over them or stop in your tracks and let them win.

I choose the first option.
It usually results in wins every time.

We also did handstands at the end of the class and again I said to myself yeaaa there is no way you're going to be able to do that, it's been years.

But I threw myself into it and against the fence AND DID IT.
Not only did I do it.
I held it for a few minutes!






This morning I woke up feeling great so I wanted to take some updated body shots.

My top half  [shoulders,chest,arms] seems to be leaning out... I can't tell if my stomach is though. It feels tighter and leaner but pictures always throw me off.


Thankfully my Tone It Up girls posted a picture that put everything in perspective for me:



All of those things are what matter.
-Not progress pictures.
-Not numbers on a scale.
-Not BS drama that you may have in your life.

LIVE IN BALANCE.
