See ya September!

These months are just flying by. Is it really October already?
For the firs time in a long time I am happy to see a month go. September, for me, was one of the worst months I have had in long time.

I refuse to sit here and dwell on that though...onwards and upwards!

This month is actually jam packed with lots of fun things, but first and foremost it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. If you are donating to a cause or participating in an event to raise awareness for this terrible disease please make sure you do your research and that the money is actually going to BC awareness. In the past few years so many companies have used the "pink" approach to increase their profits without actually donating to research or the proper foundations.

What's on the October agenda?
2 races
Vlogtober- starts today!
I am participating in the October daily photo challenge hosted by FitRadio & Jill Hanner. It's happening on instagram but you can get involved through twitter/facebook. Here are the details:

I will be staring a new series here featuring YOU and your weight loss/fitness journeys. I have received a handful of amazing stories so far and cannot wait to share them.
I haven't decided when/how I will be posting them but if you have a story to share PLEASE email it to me
It's your time to shine!

Mini weekend recap
I was back in the gym this weekend after a 3 1/2 week hiatus, and today I am sore from head to toe.
Saturday morning I tackled a 2 hour workout. 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by 30 minutes of chest and tricep machines. Then I hopped into the interval training class taught by my favorite instructor, which was awesome as usual.

Saturday afternoon Eddie and I went to lunch and then spent the day window shopping.
Going to Target was the highlight of our day. Every year we tend to try on costumes and just laugh uncontrollably. Here is why:
BTW that picture of Eddie in the hotdog costume? It's the lock screen on my phone and it has made me laugh over and over every time I look at it. Oh and that astronaut costume I am wearing in the middle is for toddlers and I got stuck in it.
Good times.

Target was also full of new pumpkin finds
The waffles aren't new to me, but everything else is... that yogurt? Yea I cannot wait for snack time today [which consists of just me in my cubicle] to try that out. I'll let you know how it goes.
I meant to bring a few hershey kisses with me for this afternoon but forgot during my morning rush to the train so they'll have to wait until after PT tonight.

Started my day off with a great 90 minute sweat session. 30 minutes abs and arms followed by 60 minutes of kickboxing.
Man it's good to be back in the gym. My mood has improved 200% and I just feel better about myself.
Right from the gym I tackled the food store. They were out of my beloved Onion Crunch so I was slightly broken hearted when I left BUT  I did stock up on honey crisp apples.

Painted my nails green for the Jets game.
I showed up prepared, unlike the team.
I wish Rex would just give Sanchez the axe already.

I met up with the girls later in the afternoon at our local bar which I am part of the football club
$25 for the season and you get your first beer and a plate of wings free, Sunday AND Monday.

Overall a great weekend, I am feeling better and ready to tackle this month head on.

Will any of you be participating in the October photo challenge?

  6. How did the hangover cure green drink work for you?!?

  7. Not even kidding you, somebody was walking around Philadelphia with that banana costume in their bag. I wanted so desperately to see it live and in person. And now you've fulfilled my dreams. ;)

  8. OMG! Just look at all that pumpkin stuff! I wanna get myself some. Too bad I can't cause I'm a sophomore in college living in the dorms with a meal plan... but yay for October.

  9. They make pumpkin yogurt?! So jealous. So so jealous.

What a great workout - there's nothing like a good long sweat on a weekend. You woul have enjoyed the pumpkin afterwards.

  10. So many fun challenges this month! I will have to do the #fallbackintofitness challenge...although I never ever fell out hehe ;) I love that you got stuck in the children's astronaut costume, awesome.

    1. I feel the same way..I never fell out, except for my injury which forced me out for a few weeks. Haha I love that eddie took the picture of me getting stuck instead of helping, I should have posted it

  11. Bahahahaha!!!! My husband tried on the hot dog and I put on the banana the other day at target! Love it!!!!

    1. so fun! I think costumes should be worn all the time

  12. You're right about having to watch out what we spend money on to donate to BC charities. I will definitely be doing my research for my October push-up challenge!

I am ALL over pumpkin everything! Trader Joe's also put out a pumpkin Greek yogurt. Can't wait to dive into it with some granola tomorrow :)

    1. I am so happy you are doing something for BC awareness :) I am a big advocate for it and am on the board for a foundation that was started in honor of my aunt. I will be finding that TJ pumpkin greek yogurt and eating it!

  13. Not gonna lie, I am totally that mom that dressed her daughter, named Hannah, as a banana for her first Halloween. I thought I'd get it over with at 7 months old rather than torture her later down the road. lol

I love your idea of sharing weight loss stories! I've lost 70 so far, but I still have about 30 to go. Sigh. This has been the hardest for me!
